I love traveling! Especially with my whole family. It embodies everything Hot Chocolate Press strives to achieve through our books. Traveling warms my heart, nourishes my soul and sparks my sense of adventure.
Last month my husband and our "kids" (they are 22 and 24) flew to Maui to celebrate my parent's 50th wedding anniversary. My twin brothers, Chuck & Eddie and their families, joined us as well. It was amazing!

It was my first time to Hawaii and the trip had a profound impact on me on so many levels.

Spark Your Sense of Adventure
Here is a recipe that is a perfect blend of two summer favorites, watermelon and sweet tea. It also reminds me of two of our Hot Chocolate Press novels, the funny, Bobbing for Watermelons and the sweet southern romance, Miss You Once Again. Enjoy!
For the Simple Syrup 1. Combine sugar and water in a small sauce pan. Stir over medium heat until sugar has completely dissolved, roughly 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
For the Tea
1. Place chunks of watermelon in a food processor or blender and puree. Using a strainer over a large bowl, strain the watermelon puree to capture the juice. You should end up with about 6 cups of juice.
2. Place tea bags in a large pitcher and pour the boiling water over. Allow to steep for 10 minutes.
3. Add the watermelon juice and stir to combine. Slowly add the simple syrup, tasting as you go.
Sweeten to your desired taste.
